Taj Mahal once claimed to be a temple; what does history say?

Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the structure was once a temple and its evidence is still hidden in the basement of the Taj Mahal, a BJP leader has claimed in a court in Uttar Pradesh in 2009.
