Rare sight... The tornado that hit Tamil Nadu was nothing but a tornado.

A tornado was observed in Thoothukudi on Sunday evening. This was a very rare sight. But according to the Meteorological Department, it was not a tornado, but a powerful updraft of cumulonimbus cloud.
