Before the release of

Vilayat Budha was directed by debutant Jayan Nambiar and starred Prithviraj in the lead role. The film was to be directed by Sachy after Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The film was announced in 2021, based on G. R. Indugopan's novel of the same name.
