The government's Fact Check Unit publicly refuted a circulating video that falsely claimed the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had endorsed an investment platform promising easy monetary returns. Standing abroad is worth little if the information space at home can be counterfeited in the names of those who hold office.

Let parliamentary committees scrutinise whether such partnerships return value, and let Indian missions connect Bharat Innovates to firms, universities and state governments. Let trade and investment outcomes, not honours, become the headline metric of a successful tour. India should be respected, never owned — and respect, in the end, is measured in delivery.
